Description
Castle Rock is located in the charming village of Crail, just 10 miles from St Andrews. The cottage, with its breathtaking views of the Firth of Forth and the Isle of May, is ideal for a relaxing family holiday.
The cottage is also ideally situated to enjoy all that Fife has to offer. Take a leisurely walk along the Fife Coastal Path for fantastic views across the sea, or hire bikes to explore the surrounding countryside. There are also plenty of opportunities for golfing, fishing, and birdwatc
If you're looking for a stress-free holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the city, then Castle Rock Cottage is the property for you: exchange the cacophony of city life for birdsong and the sound of the sea
and soak up the historic attractions and beautiful beaches in the East Neuk.
Castle Rock Cottage is situated in the heart of Crail, a picturesque fishing village in the East Neuk of Fife…think winding cobbled streets, a small harbour with creel boats, and quaint gabled houses.
This four-bedroom cottage sleeps up to seven guests, so it is the ideal size for family holidays with aunts, uncles, and grandparents. There are two bathrooms so there won't be a long
queue for the shower in the morning, and a WC with a hand wash basin, and you won't need to pack linen or towels —they're all provided. With all your loved ones gathered together, we're sure that you'll make memories that will last a lifetime.
There's also a lovely, south-facing, enclosed garden — a great space for you and your kids to enjoy relaxed evening drinks and good food on the patio, which boasts outdoor chairs and a table. Outside the property, there's also free parking.
Ground floor:
Fully equipped kitchen with dining leading to the garden
Lounge with TV and WI-FI
Twin bedroom with a cloakroom
First floor:
Master bedroom with en-suite
One double bedroom
One single bedroom
Family bathroom with bath and overhead shower
Crail is just a short drive from Kingsbarns, St Andrews, and Elie, with a selection of beautiful beaches, perfect for family days out filled with sandcastle building, rock pooling, ice creams, and picnics.
Whilst in St Andrews, you could also soak up some culture and visit one of the museums in the town —there's the Bell Pettigrew for budding biologists, the R&A World Golf Museum for fans of the ‘beautiful game', and the Wardlaw Museum for those interested in the history of the university. Last but by no means least, there is a fantastic array of cafés and restaurants in the local area… check out our blog posts on quick lunches, hot chocolates, vegetarian cuisine, burgers, and pizzas for more information!
The Crail Food Festival is a highlight of the village calendar, with many stalls, tastings, and talks. This is certainly an event to add to your diary if you'd describe yourself as a connoisseur of good food or enjoy delicious dishes! We'd also recommend heading to the Crail Harbour Gallery to peruse local artwork and enjoy a beverage and a slice of cake, as well as the Crail Pottery workshop if you'd like to purchase a piece of stoneware or earthenware to remember your holiday at Castle Rock Cottage.
Crail is a charming village located in the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. With its picturesque beauty and rich cultural heritage, it captivates visitors from all around the world. Nestled along the coastline, Crail offers stunning views of the North Sea and is a favourite spot for those seeking tranquillity and natural beauty.
One of our favorite things about Crail is how well-preserved its historic charm is. The village is known for its quaint, narrow streets lined with traditional cottages that date back centuries. It's like stepping back in time! And don't forget to check out the harbor while you're here- it's been around since the 16th century!
