Accommodation
Description
Perfect for families, this immaculately presented home is spacious and bright. It is a wonderful space to relax and unwind in after exploring the picturesque East Neuk coastline. Your own hot tub completes this perfect coastal escape and helps make the most of the fresh sea air in this part of the world.
This property comes with a welcome pack including tea, coffee, sugar, milk ,and toiletries, which includes shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap.
If you're a family of four looking for accommodation in the beautiful East Neuk, then Dragonfly Cottage is the property for you! .It is located in Cellardyke, a peaceful and quaint village with cobbled streets and a tiny harbour… if you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of dolphins, seals, and puffins!
The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, and there's a twin bedroom for the kids. Linen and towels, as well as toiletries, are provided to help you have a hassle-free holiday, but there's also a washing machine for any emergency loads of laundry! If you've got little ones in tow, there's a high chair and travel crib at the cottage meaning that you'll have more room in the car for buckets, spades, and other holiday paraphernalia! At Dragonfly Cottage, in addition to the bedroom space, there's a well-equipped kitchen, a lovely open living area, and a conservatory complete with a stove — all of which are great spaces for slow mornings and relaxed evenings with the family. We particularly love the splashes of tartan in the soft furnishings throughout the cottage, which are a reminder of its Scottish location, as well as the dragonfly decorations which subtly nod to the property's name.
There are two bathrooms, which have been recently renovated and are clean and fresh. The main bathroom has a large walk-in shower and a stylish patterned tile floor. The second one comprises a WC and washing basin. Recent guests have commented that the cottage is a “very peaceful and relaxing” place to be, that it was “clean and had everything they needed”, that it was “spotless and comfortable”, and that it has a “fabulous location” — we couldn't agree more!
Outside the property is a luxurious hot tub, an idyllic spot to unwind after the kids go to bed. We'd recommend chilling off some champagne and making chocolate-dipped strawberries for an indulgent and romantic evening with your partner after a busy day playing games on the beach! On that note, there are lots of lovely beaches in the surrounding area. Head to Elie if you're looking for watersports, the West Sands in St Andrews for sandcastle building and long walks, and Kingsbarns if you'd like to eat a delicious grilled sarnie from The Cheesy Toast Shack on the sands. In Cellardyke itself, there are some great outdoor activities to keep the kids entertained: East Neuk Outdoors runs a range of different workshops, everything from axe throwing to archery, bushcraft, canoeing, mountain biking, and stand-up paddle boarding. Finally, whilst on holiday at Dragonfly Cottage, you're only a short walk from the nearby village of Anstruther which is known for its award-winning fish and chips… a trip to the Anstruther Fish Bar is definitely an activity to add to your holiday bucket list!

Only 15 minutes drive north from the cottage, you will find the medieval town of St Andrews. This town has a rich history, a great cafe and bar scene, fine beaches, and not to mention the home of golf. Whether you want to shop, stroll, or enjoy world-class golf for every age and stage on your doorstep, you've come to the right place.
The pretty harbour village of Cellardyke is thought to have evolved from “Sillerdykes” (‘silver walls), a reference to the sun glinting off herring scales encrusted on fishing nets left to dry in the sun on the walls around the harbour. This charming, sheltered harbour is effectively the same settlement as adjoining Anstruther these days and only half a mile apart – but each has a distinct character and charm.
Cellardyke charms visitors with quaint scenes of washing lines fluttering in the breeze above the pretty harbour. The friendly village pub The Haven, positioned right on the shorefront, offers a well-stocked bar, homemade mackerel paté and a deliciously crisp battered haddock and chips. Kids will love running around the local park just up from the harbour. It's perfect for burning off steam and kicking off the sand after a day at the beach.
