Accommodation
Description
An elegant two-bedroom lodge with a hot tub beside private enclosed decking, set within 170 acres of landscaped grounds and woodland at Stewarts Resort, three miles from St Andrews. Sleeping four, with a king-size main bedroom and en-suite, zip-and-link beds in the second room, and a bean-to-cup coffee machine in the kitchen. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, and guests have free use of the resort's health spa, gym, sauna and steam room.
Inside
Contemporary decor, quality fixtures and comfortable furnishings throughout, with a generous open-plan lounge and dining area built for sociable evenings — comfortable seating, a television, and an electric fire to sit in front of when the weather turns.
The kitchen has ample counter space, integrated appliances and a full range of cookware, crockery and utensils, plus a bean-to-cup coffee machine — a small thing that makes the first hour of the day noticeably better than instant would. Please note there is no dishwasher or washing machine at this lodge; if you're staying a full week with a young family, one of our lodges with both may suit you better and we're happy to point you to the right one.
Sleeping
King-size main bedroom with storage and en-suite shower room
Twin bedroom with zip-and-link beds, which can be made up as a double
Main family bathroom
The zip-and-link beds mean the second room works either way: twins for a golfing pair or friends travelling together, a double for two couples sharing. Just tell us which you'd prefer when booking and we'll have it made up before you arrive, subject to availability.
Bed linen and towels are provided. Please bring your own towels for the hot tub.
Outside
Private, fully enclosed decking with garden furniture and a hot tub alongside. Enclosed means privacy from your neighbours and somewhere secure for a dog to be off the lead — a good place to end a day on the course or the coast path.
Private parking for two cars at the lodge, with additional parking next to the main building if you need it. EV charging points available on the resort.
Where you are
Stewarts Resort sits in over 170 acres of landscaped grounds and woodland, with walks leading down to Cameron Reservoir.
A word for the half of the party who doesn't play golf. St Andrews is minutes away and there is a great deal to do here that has nothing to do with a five iron. The town has independent shops along cobbled streets, a good run of cafés and small restaurants, the cathedral and castle ruins to climb about in, and the university's medieval quarter threaded through the middle of it. West Sands gives you two miles of beach for a long walk, and the Byre Theatre puts on drama, film and music through the year.
Beyond the town, the East Neuk villages of Crail, Anstruther, Pittenweem and Elie are strung along the coast within half an hour, each with a harbour, a beach and somewhere worth stopping. Cambo's walled garden near Kingsbarns has a path down to its own shore, and there's a whisky distillery on the same road. Perfectly possible to have the better day of the two.
For the golfers: the St Andrews links are three miles away, with Kingsbarns, Crail and Elie all within easy reach.
Good to know
Check-in from 4 pm, check-out by 10 am. Up to two small dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, with a supplement. The lodge is non-smoking inside; smoking is permitted outside, and we ask that you dispose of cigarette ends responsibly. Parking is for two cars at the lodge; any additional vehicles can use the parking next to the main building. Please charge electric vehicles at the resort's commercial charging point rather than using the lodge's own supply — charging from the lodge supply is not permitted and may incur an additional fee. Please don't take glass tumblers or bottles onto the decking or into the hot tub; plastic only. There is a strict no-noise policy after 10 pm, so please be considerate of your neighbours. A damages deposit is pre-authorised before arrival and released 72 hours after departure, provided no damage has been caused.
