Accommodation
Description
A spacious, high-specification lodge with a sunken hot tub and private enclosed decking, set within 170 acres of landscaped grounds and woodland at Stewarts Resort, three miles from St Andrews. Sleeping up to six across a king-size master, a twin and a separate snug room, with an island kitchen, dogs welcome and free use of the resort's health spa, gym, sauna and steam room.
Inside
The living space is generous and designed for a group rather than a couple — an open-plan lounge and dining area with room to spread out, and a fire to sit by on cooler evenings.
The kitchen is a proper one: an island, a freestanding American-style fridge freezer and a stylish open-plan layout that keeps whoever's cooking part of the conversation.
The snug is what sets this lodge apart. It closes off from the lounge, so it works as a quiet room for the adults, a kids' room, a home office, or a third bedroom when you need one.
Sleeping
King-size master bedroom with en-suite shower room
Twin bedroom, which can be converted to a double on request — please ask when booking
Snug room with a sofa bed, suitable for one adult or two children
Main bathroom
Bed linen and towels are provided for the bedrooms. Sofa bed linen is available to hire for a one-off fee of £21, or you're welcome to bring your own.
Outside
A private, fully enclosed deck with a sunken hot tub and outdoor furniture — the enclosure gives you real privacy and makes it practical with children or a dog. Private parking for two cars, with EV charging points available on the resort.
Where you are
Stewarts Resort sits in over 170 acres of landscaped grounds and woodland, with walks leading down to Cameron Reservoir — enough space that children can be let loose without leaving the site. There's a play park and nine-hole mini golf on the resort, which covers the days when nobody wants to get in the car.
St Andrews is three miles away, with an hourly bus passing the front of the resort. West Sands gives you two miles of beach for kite flying, rock pools and water sports, and the town has the cathedral and castle ruins, the aquarium and plenty of places to eat. Further down the coast, Anstruther is the place for fish and chips and boat trips out to the Isle of May to see the puffins, while Crail and Pittenweem have working harbours worth an afternoon. Edinburgh is around an hour and a half by car or train if you want a day in the city.
Good to know
Check-in from 4pm, check-out by 10am. Up to two small dogs are welcome. The lodge is non-smoking inside; smoking is permitted outside, and we'd ask you to dispose of cigarette ends responsibly. Parking is for two cars — please charge electric vehicles at the commercial charging points on the resort rather than from the lodge's own supply, as a £200 charge applies if a vehicle is charged at the lodge. Glass tumblers and bottles aren't allowed in the hot tub, so please use plastic. There is a strict no-noise policy after 10pm, so please be considerate of your neighbours. A damages deposit is pre-authorised before arrival and released 72 hours after departure, provided no damage has been caused.

A two-bedroom lodge with a sunken hot tub on generous, fully enclosed south-facing decking, three miles from St Andrews at Stewarts Resort. Sleeping four, with two bathrooms, a washing machine and sun loungers on the deck. Dogs are welcome, and guests have free use of the resort's health spa, gym, sauna and steam room. If you want somewhere to actually sit outside rather than merely have the option, this is the one.
Inside
Open-plan lounge with an electric fire for cooler evenings, and a well-equipped kitchen that includes a washing machine — the sort of thing you don't think about when booking and are grateful for by Wednesday.
Sleeping
Main bedroom with a double bed and en-suite
Twin bedroom
Second shower room
Two bathrooms for four guests means nobody is queuing in the morning, which matters more on a golf trip or with two couples sharing than any amount of soft furnishing.
Bed linen and towels are provided. Please bring your own towels for the hot tub.
Outside
This is the reason to book Lodge 52. The decking is generous, fully enclosed and faces south, so it holds the sun from the middle of the morning through to the evening — genuinely unusual, and it changes what a holiday here feels like. There are sun loungers as well as garden furniture, so you can eat out there and then lie about afterwards.
The hot tub is sunk into the decking, which makes it easier to get in and out of and keeps the sightlines clear. Being enclosed, the whole space is private from your neighbours and secure enough for a dog to be off the lead or children to be outside without constant watching.
Private parking for two cars at the lodge, with additional parking next to the main building if you need it. EV charging points available on the resort.
Where you are
Stewarts Resort sits in landscaped grounds and woodland with a designated footpath down to Cameron Reservoir.
Scottish summers are better than their reputation, and the reason is the light. This far north the evenings stretch on and on through June and July — you can finish dinner, walk a stretch of the coast and still be back on the deck with the sun going down. It's why a south-facing lodge is worth seeking out here in a way it wouldn't be further south.
Make use of it: West Sands at St Andrews is two miles of open beach ten minutes away, the East Neuk harbours at Crail, Anstruther, Pittenweem and Elie are strung along the coast within half an hour, and the Fife Coastal Path links them if you'd rather walk. St Andrews itself is three miles away, with the Old Course and the links, the cathedral and castle ruins and the university quarter, reachable on the hourly bus from the front of the resort. Edinburgh is around an hour and a half by car or train.
Come in the shoulder seasons and the deck still earns its keep — a hot tub and a sheltered sun trap make September and October a good deal quieter and no less pleasant.

A high-specification lodge with its own hot tub and private decking, set within 170 acres of landscaped grounds and woodland at Stewarts Resort, three miles from St Andrews. Sleeping up to six across a master with zip-and-link beds, a twin and a versatile snug, with an island kitchen and a family bathroom with a bath. Both bedrooms can be made up as doubles or twins, so the lodge suits two couples, a family, or a group of golfers equally well. Dogs are welcome, and guests have free use of the resort's health spa, gym, sauna and steam room.
Inside
Generous open-plan living, dining and kitchen space with room for six at once, and an electric fire for cooler evenings.
The kitchen is a proper one: an island, a freestanding American-style fridge freezer, and an open layout that keeps whoever's cooking part of the evening rather than shut away from it.
The snug sits next to the lounge and can be closed off — an office, a den for quiet time, somewhere for the children, or a third bedroom when you need one.
Sleeping
Master bedroom with zip-and-link beds and an en-suite walk-in shower
Twin bedroom, which can be arranged as a double on request
Snug with a double sofa bed, suitable for one adult or two children
Family bathroom off the hallway, with a bath and overhead shower
The master has zip-and-link beds that can be made up as a super king double or as twins — just tell us which you'd prefer when booking and we'll have it set up before you arrive. Combined with the twin room's own double option, that gives you real flexibility: two couples sharing, a family of four with the snug in reserve, or four golfers who'd rather each have their own bed.
Bed linen and towels are provided for the bedrooms. Extra linen for the sofa bed is available for an additional fee. Please bring your own towels for the hot tub.
Outside
Private decking with outdoor furniture, and a hot tub adjacent to the deck — somewhere to sit out with a drink after a day on the links or the coastal path.
The decking is open rather than enclosed, which keeps the outlook clear. If you're bringing a dog that needs a secure space off the lead, several of our other lodges have fully enclosed decking — just ask and we'll point you to the right one.
Private parking for two cars at the lodge, with additional parking next to the main building if you need it. EV charging points available on the resort.
Where you are
Stewarts Resort sits in over 170 acres of landscaped grounds and woodland, with walks leading down to Cameron Reservoir on a designated footpath from the resort.
This stretch of coast is worth getting out onto rather than just looking at. From Anstruther harbour, boats run across to the Isle of May through the summer — a National Nature Reserve with puffins, guillemots and a large grey seal colony, and one of the best days out in Fife. Elie has a sailing and watersports centre for kayaking and paddleboarding in the sheltered bay, and West Sands at St Andrews is a long, open beach used for kitesurfing and land yachting.
Back on land, you have the Old Course and the St Andrews links three miles away, the cathedral and castle ruins, the university quarter, and the East Neuk villages of Crail, Anstruther, Pittenweem and Elie all within half an hour of each other. Edinburgh is around an hour and a half by car or train.
