Accommodation
Description
A two-bedroom self-catering lodge set in open Fife countryside at Stewarts Resort, three and a half miles from St Andrews. Sleeping four, dogs welcome, with a private enclosed deck, an electric fire for cooler evenings and full use of the resort's health spa — an easy, well-priced base for golf, the coast and the East Neuk villages.
Inside
The open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge runs the width of the lodge, with a dining table and chairs, generous seating and an electric fire that makes it just as appealing in January as in July. Patio doors open straight onto your private deck.
The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering rather than just reheating: a large fridge-freezer, gas cooker with grill and oven, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, toaster and kettle. The washing machine makes this a practical choice for longer stays and for anyone travelling with a dog.
The master bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite toilet with wash hand basin. The second bedroom has two single beds. The family bathroom has a walk-in shower, wash hand basin and toilet. A sofa bed in the lounge can take an extra guest or two — please request linen and towels at the time of booking, as a fee applies.
Bed linen and towels are provided as standard.
Outside
A fully enclosed private deck with space to sit out, and private parking for two cars directly at the lodge. Free Wi-Fi throughout.
Where you are
Stewarts Resort sits in quiet countryside beside Cameron Reservoir, five minutes' drive from St Andrews with an hourly bus passing the front of the resort — useful if you'd rather not drive after a long lunch.
For golfers, the position is hard to beat: the Old Course and the rest of the St Andrews links are minutes away, with Kingsbarns and Crail Golfing Society a short drive down the coast. Beyond the golf, Kingsbarns Distillery is worth an afternoon, Crail and Anstruther have working harbours and some of the best fish and chips in Scotland, and the Fife Coastal Path runs the length of the East Neuk if you'd rather walk it. St Andrews itself gives you the cathedral and castle ruins, the university quarter, independent shops and a good run of restaurants.
Good to know
Check-in from 4pm, check-out by 10am. Earlier check-in or later check-out can sometimes be arranged with us in advance for a fee. Dogs are welcome. The lodge is non-smoking inside; smoking is permitted outside, and we'd ask you to dispose of cigarette ends responsibly. Parking is for two cars — any additional vehicles should use the main resort car park. Please be considerate of your neighbours and keep noise down, particularly in the evenings.
Facilities at Stewarts Resort
During your stay you'll have access to the facilities at Stewarts Resort, including:
Health spa with gym, sauna and steam room
Luna Rossa — bar and restaurant
Nine-hole mini golf
Children's play park
Cameron Reservoir, with a designated footpath from the resort
Resort facilities are under separate ownership and management by Stewarts Resort, and some may be seasonal or require booking in advance. Please contact the resort directly for opening times and reservations, and to confirm availability before you travel if any of these matter to your stay.
