Accommodation
Description
A stylish, contemporary two-bedroom lodge with its own hot tub on private enclosed decking, set in the landscaped grounds of Stewarts Resort, three miles from St Andrews. Both bedrooms have zip-and-link beds that can be made up as super kings or twins, so it works equally well for two couples, a family of four, or friends on a golf trip. Dogs are welcome, the decking is fully enclosed, and guests have free use of the resort's health spa, gym, sauna and steam room.
Inside
Modern interiors and plush furnishings throughout, with an open-plan living, dining and kitchen space that's built for spending time in rather than passing through. The lounge has an electric fire for cooler evenings — welcome after a day on the links or the coastal path.
The kitchen is fully equipped for proper self-catering, so you can cook a real meal rather than living on takeaways.
Sleeping
Two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite
Family bathroom
Sleeps four
Both bedrooms have zip-and-link beds, which can be made up as super king doubles or as twins — please let us know your preference when booking and we'll have them set up before you arrive. It's a genuinely useful arrangement: the same lodge suits a couple wanting space, two couples sharing, or four golfers who'd rather have their own beds.
Bed linen and towels are provided. Please bring your own towels for the hot tub.
Outside
Your own private hot tub on secluded, fully enclosed decking — the enclosure means you can use it at any hour without feeling overlooked, and gives your dog somewhere safe to be off the lead while you sit out. There's garden furniture for eating outside or sitting out with a drink as the light goes.
The tub is an all-weather one, and honestly it comes into its own in the colder months. Sinking into it under a clear Fife sky in October, after a long round or a windy walk on West Sands, is the thing guests tend to remember.
Private parking, with EV charging points available on the resort.
Where you are
Stewarts Resort sits in quiet, landscaped grounds three miles from St Andrews, with a footpath down to Cameron Reservoir for an easy morning walk.
St Andrews is minutes away and rewards more than a single afternoon. Beyond the Old Course and the links, there's the cathedral and castle ruins, the university's medieval quarter, cobbled streets of independent shops, and a food scene that has grown well beyond what a town this size ought to support — seafood, small bistros, good coffee. West Sands runs for two miles right at the edge of town.
Down the coast, the East Neuk is where a lot of the pleasure of this part of Fife lies. Kingsbarns Distillery is a short drive and worth the tour. Crail, Anstruther, Pittenweem and Elie each have a working harbour, a beach and somewhere good to eat, strung along the Fife Coastal Path if you'd rather walk between them. Edinburgh is an hour and a half by car or train for a day in the city.
Good to know
Check-in from 4pm, check-out by 10am. Up to two small dogs are welcome, with a supplement. The lodge is non-smoking inside; smoking is permitted outside, and we'd ask you to dispose of cigarette ends responsibly. Please charge electric vehicles at the commercial charging points on the resort rather than from the lodge's own supply. Glass tumblers and bottles aren't allowed in the hot tub, so please use plastic. There is a strict no-noise policy after 10pm, so please be considerate of your neighbours. A damages deposit is pre-authorised before arrival and released 72 hours after departure, provided no damage has been caused.
